Vehicle for Change Awarded to GBAPP


GBAPP’s Housing Plus- a transitional housing program for runaway adolescents; and in with collaboration with Supportive Housing Works, was awarded funding for a mobile van: Vehicle for Change, equipped with the correct amenities too assist in the outreach for this special population.

Supportive Housing Works was awarded $100,000 funding from Impact Fairfield County to buy, customize and support a mobile van, which was then awarded to GBAPP as lead agency for the outreach program.

The outreach’s mission is to search for and identify individuals of this extremely vulnerable and underserved population. The mobile van will serve as a platform to provide essential assistance and supportive services in a safe and private manor.

 GBAPP’s Executive Director; Virginia Hanrahan noted: the grant funding was an extremely competitive process. GBAPP. was chosen from a large group of applicants. Ms. Hanrahan further noted:  the selection jurors were influenced from GBAPP’s record of providing excellent services to adolescents and is a strong highly respected organization that supports the community in a myriad of different ways.
