Bridgeport Partners For Teens
The Bridgeport
Partners For Teens provides substance abuse treatment and HIV/AIDS
services, targeting African American and Hispanic communities
affected by the epidemics of substance abuse and HIV/AIDS.
Services available
include peer-to-peer outreach and risk reduction to adolescents at
high risk for HIV infection and substance use, HIV testing,
individual behavior risk assessment, group level risk reduction
education, and substance abuse treatment. The risk reduction
education follows the evidence-based curriculum, "Becoming A
Responsible Teen (BART)" and the substance abuse treatment, provided
by Connecticut Renaissance, is Motivational Enhancement
Therapy/Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (MET/CBT 12). All project
participants identified as having unmet medical and/or supportive
service needs will be referred to appropriate agencies for services
and case management will follow up with after care for up to 12
months post-enrollment.
BPT is a free program
and referrals by community, schools, courts, family, and walk-ins
accepted.
